Despite being a tech person*, or maybe because of that, I'm somewhat slow to start using new technology.  John - one of the owners of the (locally owned) film processor** I used -  kept encouraging me to get a digital camera.  He said it would radically alter the way I took photos. He was right.  I seldom use my film camera anymore.  I have the freedom to take as many shots as I want of anything that 'tickles my fancy'.  I just wish that I had more time to devote to taking all sorts of pictures.  On the plus side, living in the country, I do have a large range of natural subjects available year 'round. It's a greeting, not a farewell.  Since I don't know what time of day you're reading this, and you don't know what time of day I wrote this, I'm using the generic 'day' rather than 'morning', 'afternon', 'evening', etc. This site will mainly be to share some of my pictures, old and new.  I consider myself a serious amateur photographer.  I take pictures for the fun of it, to help me relax, as an escape from the real world.
